Male
Aro Dana Faeq, born March 3, 2007, in Sulaymaniyah, Aro’s journey began with constant rejection for being “too young.” Undeterred, he taught himself to code and launched his first website at age 11. Since then, he has become a leading young tech entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, and founder of initiatives empowering youth and preserving Kurdish culture through technology. Aro founded AK Group, which has educated over 2,000 young people in Iraq and Kurdistan, and created Kurd-Aid, a Kurdish-language medical app, and Kurdim, a language learning platform to preserve Kurdish. He also helped integrate Kurdish Sorani into Google Translate. He won first place in Iraq’s Google Hash Code competition, spoke at the Dublin Tech Summit, and was recognized globally as one of the youngest CEOs. Despite challenges like limited infrastructure and political instability, Aro’s passion for technology drives him to build solutions that uplift marginalized communities and inspire youth to innovate.
