Zagros Mohammed Nori Almukhtar

Zagros Mohammed Nori Almukhtar, born on April 20, 2000, in Duhok, is a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, community engagement, youths mentor, purposeful leadership, and a linguist. At just 25 years old, he brings nearly a decade of experience in youth empowerment. Nearly ten years ago, as he began his first year of high school, Zagros encountered one of the most formative influences of his life, the guidance and mentorship of his school manager at the time, Mr. Sami. That chapter marked a turning point, a shift from youthful uncertainty toward a growing awareness of the world and the challenges it presents. Then when he started his University journey he almost got elected as the Student Government President of University of Duhok. His journey of personal growth and self discovery has never stood still, after his graduation of university and became the representative of four thousand graduates while thirty thousand people were attending the graduation ceremony, He delivered the speech of students. After his graduation then he traveled to the U.S. as a Mentor for the participants of the IYLEP by World Learning. Today, Zagros remains dedicated to learning from both his own experiences and the shared stories of others. He believes that empowering and guiding young people is one of the most meaningful ways to build a more inclusive, resilient, and forward thinking society, one that thrives through unity, compassion, and shared purpose.
