Mohammed Mahmoud Hamad

Mohammed Mahmoud Hamad, born June 28, 2000, in Erbil, believes everyone should carry a message to improve themselves, their environment, and society. His life was shaped by participating in the MEPI SLP program, fully funded by the U.S. State Department. In 2023, Mohammed was one of four Iraqi recruits selected to train intensively in the U.S. on leadership and later represented Iraq as the sole participant in COP29 Simulation programs in Turkey and Egypt, helping prepare an environmental protection bill for COP29 in Azerbaijan. Now, Mohammed is founder and director of the Kurdistan Youth Network, which has helped thousands of Kurdish students access opportunities to advance themselves and Kurdistan. He believes Kurdish youth have the same potential as their peers worldwide, needing only greater access to opportunities.
