Vina Jabbar Sultan Murad, born in 1998 in Halabja, is a graduate of Information Technology from the Polytechnic University of Sulaimani. She has worked as an assistant lecturer at Halabja Technical Institute for three years and has dedicated the past five years to the Halabja Disabled Organization, focusing on people with disabilities, peacebuilding, and women’s empowerment. She has participated in numerous trainings and workshops in these fields. Currently, Vina serves as a member of Iraq’s National Youth Council for People with Disabilities. Through her work, she strives to show that people with disabilities, like any other members of society, can overcome challenges and succeed. In 2023, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, she became the first woman with a disability to share her life story and achievements at a special event in Halabja dedicated to the city’s martyrs. Vina credits her family and the Halabja Disabled Organization as her main sources of strength and support, enabling her to face difficulties and persevere. Her mission as part of Ganjina is to advocate for the rights of women, especially women with disabilities, to raise community awareness about disability rights, and to work towards improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
