Baxtawar Barzan, born with special needs, has transformed early life challenges into a powerful journey of resilience and personal growth. Facing moments of isolation and hardship during his school years, Baxtawar made a courageous decision to pause and reflect, supported by the unwavering encouragement of his family and community. This foundation helped him embrace his identity with strength, hope, and determination. Baxtawar pursued academic excellence, earning a master’s degree in computer science and taking on leadership roles throughout his university career. Passionate about accessibility and inclusion, he has led innovative projects such as developing digital systems to support people with visual impairments and creating the first Kurdish sign language dictionary, opening new doors for the disabled community. Recognized for impactful advocacy and commitment to change, Baxtawar was honored with the D-30 Disability Impact List award. His story is a powerful example of how perseverance, faith, and community support can transform darkness into light and inspire others to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
