Bilal Mustafa

Bilal Mustafa, born in 1990 in Chwarqurna, Rania, is a creative director, entrepreneur, and media innovator shaping the visual identity of Kurdistan. His journey began with early talents in programming, 3D artistry, and filmmaking, which led him at just 16 to Erbil, where he started his career. While studying Computer Engineering, he built award-winning AI-powered robots and later showcased his work in the USA. Over the years, Bilal directed documentaries in more than 30 countries with different Media Network and went on to establish Retro Media in 2020, now a leading force in CGI, VFX, and cinematic production across Kurdistan, Iraq, and beyond. As Creative Director, he has mentored young talents while pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling. His work including the internationally recognized Visit Kurdistan Film, reflects a deep commitment to presenting Kurdistan’s beauty, culture, and heritage to the world, inspiring a modern and hopeful image of the region.
